SSPT Symposium 2016: Advances in Pharmacology - Personalized Medicine, Bern (CH)
The aim of this meeting is to update pharmacists, medical doctors, and scientists interested in Pharmacology on progress made in the field. Each year, the meeting covers a distinct topic. In 2016, the emerging field of "Personalized Medicine", also called "Precision Medicine" will be discussed. Personalized Medicine is a new approach with the goal to predict how a patient is going to respond to a specific treatment. New technologies, such as the "omics" techniques, provide us the tools to determine the individual variability of genes and environmental exposures that are both crucial factors in the pathogenesis of diseases. Leading scientists will provide an overview of the field as well as the latest insights that have already made the transition into clinical medicine.
The Symposium will be held in German and French.
